**Who you are**
We’re seeking an HR Assistant to join our HR team on a 4-month contract. This is a remote role, with the option to work from the nearest Motion location for cross-training if needed. Reporting to the People Operations Specialist and working closely with the People & Culture team, you’ll help ensure service excellence by handling employee questions, supporting HR systems, and producing basic reports. You’ll also be encouraged to share your ideas and knowledge to support People/HR-related special projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team committed to excellence every day, supporting one another’s goals, and encouraging continuous learning and development as HR professionals.
**What you’re looking for—and what’s in it for you**
You want to build your human resources knowledge and skills and grow your career at a healthcare solutions company. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, staying organized and efficient while maintaining your genuine passion for people and a supportive approach. You’re looking for a purposeful place where you can apply your HR foundation and experience and receive support as you develop and advance.
**What you will do**
– **Operational effectiveness:** Support People (HR) functions such as onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, general administrative support, and answering employee inquiries submitted through our Tier 1 support desk. Tier 1 support may include helping employees learn about, adopt, and implement core HR programs and policies.
– **System maintenance:** Help maintain and ensure the accuracy of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and other related HR systems, and prepare/pull basic reports.
– **Engaging communication:** Partner with members of the People & Learning team to create clear, engaging weekly updates for internal employees about new programs, policy changes, and other key information.
– **Special projects:** Support a variety of People projects, coordinating with other teams such as payroll, marketing, communications, learning, and operations to help ensure project success.
**What you bring**
– **Education and experience:** A degree or diploma from a post-secondary program in business management, human resources, or related experience. Knowledge of HR functions (onboarding, employee relations, HRIS administration) is an asset. Experience in an administrative and coordination role, including hands-on data management exposure, is also an asset.
– **Passion for people:** You enjoy supporting others and understand the importance of confidentiality given the sensitive data handled by the People team.
– **Communication:** Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain ideas clearly to different audiences, and comfortable communicating at all levels. Effective both independently and as part of a team.
– **Flexibility and organization:** You can manage multiple tasks and deadlines without losing focus. You prioritize and organize tasks throughout the day and adjust quickly when needs change—while still meeting deadlines.
– **Technical skills:** Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
