Red Hot’s Finance Team is looking for a Remote Finance Lead responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, including overseeing sales tax reporting, partnering with bookkeepers to close the books accurately, setting up new entities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring reconciliations are correct.

**Position Responsibilities**
**AP & AR:** Ensure reconciliations and payments are completed on time, and confirm Red Hot receives the amounts owed by key partners.
**Automate:** Develop, automate, and take ownership of financial reporting and reconciliation processes so the team can make informed decisions that improve profitability.
**Audit & Control:** Create and enforce internal controls and audits to reduce the risk of negligence and fraud.
**Financial Reports:** Own the monthly bookkeeping cycle, prepare key financial reports, track expenses, and monitor Media Buy Economics.
**External Communication:** Serve as the primary point of contact for accountants, bookkeepers, and strategic partners.
**Analytical:** Understand the different “levers” of the business and how they work together to drive profit. Build reports that help identify opportunities to cut costs, increase free cash flow, and improve margins.
**Infrastructure:** Streamline banking operations by managing bank accounts, credit cards, and everyday financial tools. Use technology and automation to enhance efficiency and security.
**Processes:** Create, document, and improve internal processes for day-to-day tasks such as commission payout reconciliations.
As a leader on our team, you’ll help shape how we operate and make measurable contributions to how we evolve and grow. This is a fast-moving role that requires hands-on problem-solving and using technology to improve efficiency—while also stepping back to think strategically. Some days you’ll be working through numbers and preparing reports; other days you’ll be redesigning reconciliation processes.
**Must Haves**
– Strong analytical skills, a love of numbers, and the ability to bring order and efficiency out of chaos
– Experience using QuickBooks
– Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
– Ability to manage multiple projects accurately and efficiently to meet deadlines
– Ability to manage 20+ entities, each with its own QuickBooks account, all under the same umbrella entity
– Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, pivot tables, and other formulas
– Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment with people worldwide
– Ability to balance books, prepare journal entries, and produce key financial reports (Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, and Income Statement)
**Big Pluses (Not Required)**
– Experience in direct response marketing or e-commerce
– Prior remote work experience
– Experience working with merchant processors
