Lead 3D Environment Artist — Seedify Meta Studios is seeking a talented, creative, and collaborative Lead 3D Environment Artist to join our core team. You will help develop high-quality maps for one of the largest metaverse projects ever. The ideal candidate will lead the team in creating stunning environments and props, guided by visually appealing and well-crafted concept art.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of internal and external 3D artists.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director, designers, engineers, and producers to align creative vision with production constraints while meeting technical performance targets.
  • Sculpt/model UVs and texture meshes within a PBR pipeline.
  • Review and integrate outsourced assets, ensuring they meet game technology and design requirements.
  • Assess in-game object quality and make improvements to meet technical constraints and the artistic direction.
  • Actively mentor and model best practices for the art team, maintaining morale and fostering creativity and enthusiasm.
  • Be directly responsible for delivering top-quality art assets from the team.
  • Implement 3D environment assets correctly in the Unreal Engine.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in graphic design, 3D, video game development, or equivalent training.
  • 8 years of game industry experience using industry-standard 3D tools, preferably 3DS Max and ZBrush, with at least 1–2 years at a Lead level.
  • Experience shipping published AAA titles is a strong advantage.

Required Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of 3DS Max, ZBrush, and Substance Painter.
  • Expert knowledge of Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of AAA art production (PBR, shaders, and optimization).
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating 3D skills and high-level artistic creativity.
  • Expert knowledge of 3D pipelines and asset management.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine.
  • Familiarity with the game development lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of architecture and props in relation to the environment.
  • Knowledge of Python, MEL, MAXScript, or another programming language (e.g., C++, C#), and scripting for assets.

  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Coaching and mentoring experience.
  • Broad understanding of video games and gaming culture.
  • Self-motivated, agile, and proactive.

$35,000 — $75,000/year
