Wpromote is seeking a Director of Social to lead and evolve the agency’s social media presence in an internal, non-client-facing role. You will shape how Wpromote shows up on social through content, community, and the voices of our team. The role covers three main areas: organic social strategy and content for agency-owned channels (initially focused on LinkedIn and Instagram); employee advocacy across the organization; and executive social, partnering with senior leaders to strengthen their presence on social.
This is a director-level individual contributor role that is both strategic and hands-on. You’ll need strong experience in social storytelling, content creation—especially social video—and platform-native best practices. You will report to the VP, Content & Comms.

The anticipated annual salary for this role is $110,000–$130,000, depending on factors unique to each candidate, including skills, experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market conditions, geographic location, and the salary thresholds for exempt roles in each state. Wpromote pay ranges may change based on market medians from third-party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within the range can vary based on skills, experience, and available budget. Total compensation includes the benefits listed above and an annual performance bonus.
This role includes an annual target bonus component paid based on Company performance, department performance, and individual performance. Bonuses are not guaranteed. You must be an active employee in good standing and not on a Performance Improvement Plan to qualify.
*This role may be performed remotely in most US states, with some exclusions.
While this position offers remote flexibility, we also have office hubs in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York—where you can join learning and development opportunities, attend fun events, use collaborative workspace, and work in person with the team.

You will:
– Own agency organic social strategy and content, including:
– Defining and owning the organic social strategy across all channels, including building and maintaining a content calendar and setting priorities, standards, and direction aligned with brand, marketing, and business goals
– Overseeing the creation of consistent, varied social content (static images, carousels, and short-form video) to support business goals and talent acquisition
– Turning agency POVs, thought leadership, cultural moments, and wins into compelling, platform-native social stories
– Staying current on social trends, formats, and algorithm changes, including experimenting with new formats and channels
– Defining and evolving success metrics for Wpromote’s social presence across awareness, engagement, and brand/business impact
– Setting priorities and making tradeoffs across social initiatives to maintain focus, quality, and sustainable execution in a lean team
– Lead content creation and social video:
– Serve as a creative lead and hands-on contributor, especially for social video (e.g., LinkedIn video and Instagram Reels)
– Partner with internal teams and leaders to capture authentic, high-performing content, including filming, direction, and editing as needed
– Set clear creative standards and best practices for social content across the agency
– Travel periodically to capture real-time social content at conferences, agency events, leadership summits, and more
– Manage freelance and creator relationships as required
– Set strategy for live event coverage and take initiative on-site with video, interviews, and on-the-ground production
– Build and scale employee advocacy:
– Own and grow Wpromote’s employee advocacy strategy, enabling employees to show up confidently and consistently on social
– Create scalable systems, training, and share-ready content that makes participation easy and authentic
– Partner with People Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Marketing to align advocacy with recruiting, culture, and brand initiatives
– Report on advocacy impact to evaluate brand and business outcomes and guide decisions
– Elevate executive social presence:
– Partner with key leaders to enhance their social presence and thought leadership
– Provide strategic guidance, content ideation, editing, and posting support tailored to each leader’s voice and goals
– Help executives navigate LinkedIn best practices, content formats, and engagement strategies
You must have:
– 7–10 years of experience in organic social media, including at least 3+ years in a senior- or director-level role
– Proven experience leading organic social strategy for a brand or agency (internal brand experience strongly preferred)
– Strong hands-on content creation experience, including social video (concepting, directing, and/or editing)
– Deep expertise in LinkedIn and Instagram, plus experience across TikTok, Snap, and other video-driven social platforms, including platform-native formats and best practices
– Experience building or managing employee advocacy and/or executive social programs
– Strong strategic thinking with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and create
– Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone across audiences and platforms
– Comfort partnering with senior leaders and delivering clear, confident social guidance
– A strong point of view on what great organic social looks like—and how to evolve it over time
– A great sense of humor and an appetite for provocative content
– Willingness and ability to travel periodically for agency events, industry conferences, leadership summits, and on-site content production
