Piton Labs is hiring a Senior Software Engineer full-time. We want you to cover the full technical stack, with a strong preference for candidates who are especially strong in backend development. You should have extensive experience with cloud infrastructure. Experience in startups—either through your own projects or by working in the early stages of a startup—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates whose time zone falls between GMT-8 (US West Coast) and GMT-3, but depending on the situation we may also consider other regions.

## Responsibilities and Technologies
At Piton Labs, you work with both startup teams and large organizations to tackle complex technical challenges. You help clients deal with the uncertainty and complexity that comes with building software—you support product development and clarify what really needs to be built. You don’t just take on assigned tasks; you help shape priorities so you can focus your energy on what matters most to the client.

We don’t have a single required technology stack, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. Cloud infrastructure is typically AWS, though some clients use other providers. You need at least five years of strong application development experience across a modern stack, including experience with relational databases and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You must be able to reliably deliver high-quality, well-tested software.

A typical week may include:
– Developing advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Building and developing serverless API layers for new web products
– Using infrastructure-as-code tools to build and configure cloud infrastructure
– Presenting new features to client stakeholders

## Ideal Profile
You’re independent and love building software. You enjoy solving problems and continuously improving your technical skills. Key traits include:
– Practical: solution- and value-oriented; use creativity when needed
– Independent: take ownership of products or features and understand both the technical and human sides
– Experienced: more than five years across different types of projects, with skills refined through long-term practice
– Adaptable: stay current with technology and aren’t limited to a single specialty

## Remote Work Arrangement
– Our team works fully remotely; there is no fixed office location
– We prefer candidates in the United States with legal permission to work
– Second preference: candidates from Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– The role requires 4 to 6 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time
– Digital nomads are welcome—your location can be flexible

## Why Join Us?
– Attractive compensation: $140,000 per year for candidates from the United States
– Meaningful quarterly bonuses tied to company success, typically $2,500–$5,000
– Four weeks paid vacation
– Fully remote work
– Strong work-life balance: work with an energized startup team without sacrificing your weekends
– Flexible culture: fewer meetings, a high-trust approach to execution, and less real-time synchronous communication
