Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who can work across the entire stack, with a strong preference for candidates who are especially strong in backend development. Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure is required. Prior experience in startups—either through personal projects or by working at early-stage companies—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located between GMT‑8 (U.S. West Coast) and GMT‑3, though we may consider other situations on a case-by-case basis.

## Responsibilities and technologies
At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and large organizations to solve complex technical challenges. You’ll help clients navigate the uncertainty and complexity of building software—supporting them in developing their products and clarifying what truly needs to be built. Rather than just executing predefined tasks, you’ll help set priorities and focus effort on the most important problems for our clients.

We don’t require a single mandatory tech stack, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. For cloud infrastructure, we typically use AWS, although some clients may use other providers. You must be able to demonstrate at least five years of experience with a strong application development stack, relational databases, and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with the tools we favor is helpful but not required. You must consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:
– Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Creating and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
– Setting up and provisioning cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
– Presenting new features to client-side stakeholders

## About the ideal profile
You’re self-driven and passionate about software development. You enjoy solving problems and continuously improving your technical skills. Key qualities include:
– Pragmatic: focus on solving problems and creating value, with creativity when needed
– Independent: own products or features, understanding both technical and human aspects
– Experienced: more than five years across a variety of project types, with skills refined over time
– Adaptable: keep up with evolving technologies and don’t limit yourself to a single specialty

## Remote work policy
– The team is 100% remote and we don’t have a physical office
– We prefer candidates in the United States with legal authorization to work
– Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– The role requires 4–6 hours per day of overlap with Brasília time (US Eastern Time)
– Digital nomads are welcome; your work location is flexible

## Why work with us?
– Competitive salary: $140,000 for U.S. candidates
– Substantial quarterly performance bonuses tied to company profits, typically between $2,500 and $5,000
– Four weeks of paid time off
– Fully remote work
– Strong work-life balance culture: you’ll work with dynamic startups without giving up your weekends
– Flexible culture with few meetings and minimal need for coordination, built on strong trust in delivery
