Piton Labs is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (full-time). We’re looking for someone who can work across the entire technical stack, with a strong preference for candidates who are particularly solid on the backend. Deep hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure is required. Having worked with startups—either through personal projects or by joining early-stage companies—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located between GMT‑8 (US West Coast) and GMT‑3, though we may consider other situations on a case-by-case basis.

## Responsibilities and technologies
At Piton Labs, you’ll work alongside startups as well as large organizations to tackle complex technical challenges. You’ll help our clients navigate the uncertainty and complexity of software development—supporting them as they build their products and clarifying what actually needs to be built. Rather than only executing predefined tasks, you’ll help set priorities and focus effort on the most important problems for our clients.

We don’t enforce a single technology stack, but most of our projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. In general, we use AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients may use other providers. You must be able to justify at least five years of experience building reliable application stacks, relational databases, and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is an advantage, but not required. You must consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:
– Building advanced UI interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
– Setting up and deploying cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools
– Presenting new features to client stakeholders

## Remote work policy
– Our team is fully remote and we do not maintain a physical office
– We prefer candidates based in the United States with legal authorization to work
– Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– The role requires 4 to 6 hours per day of overlap with the EST time zone (US Eastern Time)
– Digital nomads are welcome; your location is flexible
