Piton Labs is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on a full-time basis. We’re looking for someone who feels comfortable across the entire stack, ideally with a stronger focus on backend development. The ideal candidate also has solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Startup experience—either by founding your own company or working at an early-stage startup—is a plus. We prefer candidates in time zones between GMT-8 (US West Coast) and GMT-3, but we’re open to individual exceptions.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with startups and larger organizations to solve some of their most challenging technical problems. You’ll navigate the natural ambiguity and complexity of software development, helping not only to build products, but also to determine what should be built in the first place. Rather than simply processing a backlog, you’ll help set priorities and tackle the most valuable problems.

We’re technology-agnostic, but most of our projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. For cloud infrastructure, we typically use AWS, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a large web application stack, relational databases, and a modern frontend stack. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful, but not required. You should be able to deliver reliable, well-tested, stable code.

A typical week may include:

• Building complex user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Architecting and deploying cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code
• Presenting new features to clients and stakeholders

REMOTE WORK GUIDELINES

• Our team is fully remote with no physical office
• We prefer candidates in the USA who can work legally there
• Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
• Most days require 4–6 hours of overlap with US Eastern time
• Digital nomads are welcome; your location is flexible
