Piton Labs is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on a full-time basis. We’re looking for someone comfortable working across the entire stack, ideally with a strong focus on back-end development. The ideal candidate will also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior experience in startups—either as a founder or while working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates in time zones between GMT-8 (U.S. West Coast) and GMT-3, though others may be considered individually.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES**

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and more established organizations to tackle some of their most complex technical challenges. You’ll handle the ambiguity and complexity that come with software development, helping clients not only build their products, but also determine what should be built. Rather than simply executing tasks from a backlog, you’ll help set priorities and solve the highest-impact problems for our clients.

We’re technology-agnostic, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically use AWS for cloud infrastructure, although some clients use other providers. You must have at least five years of experience with a core stack spanning web applications, relational databases, and a modern front-end stack. Experience with our usual tools is helpful, but not required. You should be able to consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

– Building rich user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
– Architecting and provisioning cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
– Presenting new features to client stakeholders

**ABOUT YOU**

You’re self-directed and passionate about writing code. You enjoy solving problems and continuously expanding your technical skills. Your key strengths include:

– **Pragmatic:** focuses on solving problems and creating value, knowing when creativity is needed
– **Self-sufficient:** takes ownership of products or features and understands both technical and human aspects
– **Experienced:** with more than five years in the field, you’ve worked on multiple projects and strengthened your craft
– **Adaptable:** evolves with technology and doesn’t limit yourself to past specialties

**REMOTE WORK POLICY**

– The team is fully remote, with no physical office
– We prefer candidates located in the United States and legally authorized to work in the country
– Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– Expect 4 to 6 hours of overlap with East Coast business hours on most days
– Digital nomads are welcome; your work location is flexible

**WHY WORK WITH US?**

– Competitive salary: $140,000 USD for candidates in the U.S.
– Substantial quarterly profit-sharing bonuses, typically between $2,500 and $5,000
– Four weeks of paid vacation
– Fully remote, permanently
– Excellent work-life balance—work with fast-growing startups without sacrificing your weekends
– Flexible, asynchronous culture with few meetings and high trust in your delivery
