Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone comfortable working across the entire stack, ideally with a stronger focus on backend development. The ideal candidate will also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior startup experience—either building your own venture or working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates in time zones between GMT‑8 (U.S. West Coast) and GMT‑3, though others may be considered individually.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES
At Piton Labs, you’ll collaborate with startups and larger organizations to tackle some of their most complex technical challenges. You’ll handle the ambiguity and natural complexity of software development—helping clients not only build their products, but also define what should be built. Instead of simply pulling tasks from a backlog, you’ll help set priorities and focus on solving the problems that deliver the most value to our clients.

We’re technology-agnostic, but most of our projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically use AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a core stack involving web applications, relational databases, and a modern frontend stack. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. It’s important that you feel comfortable consistently delivering reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

• Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Defining and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Designing and provisioning cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Presenting new features to the client’s stakeholders

You’re self-sufficient and passionate about writing code. You enjoy solving problems and continuously expanding your technical expertise. Key traits include:

REMOTE WORK POLICY

• Our team is fully remote, with no physical office.
• We prefer candidates in the U.S. who have legal authorization to work in the country.
• Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
• Expect 4 to 6 hours of overlap with U.S. East Coast working hours on most days.
• Digital nomads are welcome; your work location is flexible.
