Piton Labs is looking for a full-time Senior Software Engineer to work across the entire stack, with a particular focus on back-end development. The ideal candidate will also have strong experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior experience in startups—either as a founder or while working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates in time zones between GMT‑8 (US West Coast) and GMT‑3, though others may be considered case by case.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with startups and larger organizations to solve some of their most complex technical challenges. You’ll handle the uncertainty and complexity inherent in software development, helping clients not only build their products, but also clarify what should be built. Rather than simply pulling tasks from a backlog, you’ll help set priorities and focus on solving the highest-impact problems for our clients.

While we’re technology-agnostic, most projects involve TypeScript, React, and Go. We primarily use AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients choose other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a primary web application stack, relational databases, and a modern front-end stack. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. We expect you to consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

• Building sophisticated interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Architecting and deploying cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Presenting new features to client stakeholders

REMOTE WORK POLICY

• We prefer candidates in the US who are legally authorized to work in the country
