Calibrater Health is hiring its first full time engineer. We have paying customers, a stable code base written by the co-founders, and we’re looking for a developer with a few years of experience to join our growing company. You will work with the technical co-founder to define and build product, put in place the systems and best practices you choose, and lead the engineering team to build and scale our innovative real-time system for capturing and distributing patient experience data.

The tech: a fairly vanilla Django/PostgreSQL web app with some JavaScript on the front end. We have a managed platform provider to take care of most DevOps tasks, and a front end contractor to take care of the more complicated lines of JS, both of whom you will manage as your resources. There is also an iOS app in contract development, a process you’ll have as much or little involvement with as you want. We believe in test coverage, beautiful code, and agile style processes that constantly deliver business value.

The ideal candidate:

  • you’re an experienced developer who has learned from some great engineers and mentors, but it’s time for you to start leading a product and team of your own
  • you’ve spent time writing in Python / Django,you’re technically curious, and love learning new things
  • you have an indomitable attitude, andfind solutions not problems; you ship code
  • you bring humility, an open mind and an outstanding work ethic to a team that shares your values

The role: work constantly and closely with the co-founders building and shipping product in the very early stages of a high-growth startup. You’ll be involved in as many product decisions as you want, and will have full reign to choose the tools, frameworks and best practices of your choice. Eventually, you’ll also be responsible for hiring and managing a team. We’re offering the right candidate an exciting chance to be a formative and key member of the founding team.

Salary and compensation

$100,000 — $120,000/year
