First and foremost, you love the idea of bringing art, music, design, and engineering together. You’re an experienced, talented full-stack or backend engineer with an impressive record in building complex applications. You have architect-level knowledge of large systems in which you played an integral role. You have been involved in products with multiple releases and shipped as an individual contributor or tech lead. You have likely participated in and have maintained a few open-source projects. You may have a slightly unhealthy obsession for beautiful code, best practices, and building inspired products.
Preferably, you live in NYC, or alternately SF. That’s not a deal breaker, but desirable. You will have some opportunity to influence the technology we use to power our backend. You have expertise in some of the following:
JavaScript (and frameworks such as Angular, Backbone or Ember), MEAN Stack, Python, Ruby, Java, PHP, Nodejs, WordPress, Databases (MongoDB/noSQL/mySQL)
Aside from technical requirements, the most important thing we are looking for is someone who believes in the vision and is willing to work like crazy to help us achieve it. And in fact, we are completely open to creating a flexible role for the right fit – say if you’re under contract or can’t currently leave another position but would like to contribute to Patron, then we will figure out a role for you.
Finally, in terms of compensation: no, it is not just equity. Once we find the right full-stack/backend engineer, we are going to raise our first round. We’ve already prepared for that process, and in fact have already received interest from several angels/VCs. We’re just waiting to find the right engineer to complete our core team.
