Every month Snapwiz collects millions of user interaction records on its online learning platform (Wiley Learning Spaces, Wiley Orion, McGraw Hill Easy, Edulastic, etc). We use statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to administer adaptive testing, build personalized learning paths, and deliver learning recommendations.
As a data scientist, you’ll work with product managers, designers, and engineers to build data driven features directly into our learning platform.

Requirements:
- Strong background in Machine Learning, Statistics,and Data Analysis
- Ability to set and meet your own project objectives & milestones
- Ability to manage and mentor a team of junior data scientists members
- Experience in exploratory data analysis, modeling & visualization tools preferably R and Shiny or Python/Pandas/Scipy/Numpy.
- Critical thinking and creativity skills. We are looking for individuals who can think of novel ways to analyze data and solve problems
- Communicate results and progress internally and externally in meetings, presentations, and tech talks
- Master’s (or advanced) degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field
- Experience programming in an object oriented language (Java, C++, etc) is a plus
- Experience in handling and mining large data sets, parallelization and run time optimization is a plus
- Prior experience with data mining in education field is a plus
