The Koch Internship Program is a paid, 10‑week hands-on learning experience offered by Stand Together Fellowships. It provides valuable work opportunities at nonprofits across the country that are addressing many of the nation’s most significant challenges. While interning with a partner organization, you will also participate in virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 1–5 pm ET, where experienced professionals will mentor you as you develop a capstone project on a topic of your choice. Interns receive a stipend of either $5,500 for full-time participation (40 hours per week) or $3,300 for part-time participation (28 hours per week).

Because successful applicants interview with both the partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, early applications are strongly encouraged.

National Taxpayers Union Foundation is a nonpartisan research and educational institution dedicated to helping Americans understand how taxes, government spending, and regulations affect their lives. Through data-driven research, analysis, and commentary, NTUF equips people to engage in key policy debates and hold elected officials accountable. Its research spans numerous policy areas, with an emphasis on tax, technology, interstate commerce, legislative scoring, and trade. The organization has also expanded into public interest litigation through its newly established legal project.

NTUF’s Taxpayer Defense Center conducts public interest litigation on behalf of taxpayers, focusing on cases that challenge administrative overreach by tax authorities, protect against unconstitutional burdens on interstate commerce, and seek to eliminate retroactive tax increases.

The Law Clerk will support the Taxpayer Defense Center by conducting substantive research and assisting in drafting and editing motions, amicus briefs for appellate courts, and reports analyzing important legal and economic tax issues.

Applicants must have completed at least one year of law school before the clerkship begins and should possess some understanding of economic concepts. They should also demonstrate interest in federal and state constitutional or tax law, including issues involving the Commerce Clause, Due Process, Equal Protection, and state uniformity clauses.

Qualified applicants must submit a cover letter explaining their interest in the role and NTUF’s mission, which can be included in the “Additional Information” section after selecting “Apply for this Job.”

Stand Together Fellowships values diverse experiences, perspectives, and ideas, believing they enhance creativity and drive success. The admissions office is committed to treating all applicants with fairness, respect, and sensitivity, and welcomes candidates from all backgrounds in accordance with all applicable nondiscrimination laws.
