As the Vice President of Communications with Stand Together you will be a senior communications, public relations, and editorial leader supporting our Chief Communications Officer in advancing and operationalizing our communications vision. In this pivotal role, you will lead a high performing team responsible for translating organizational priorities into clear, compelling, and actionable communications strategies. You will play a critical part in strengthening Stand Together’s positioning by driving integrated plans across diverse issue areas, brands, and audiences ensuring the work of your team reinforces the broader communications strategy set by the CCO. Additionally, you will also help evolve and scale communications operations, enabling more consistent, measurable, and timely delivery against the organization’s top priorities that position Stand Together for future growth and opportunity.
How You Will Contribute

    • Partner closely with the Chief Communications Officer to set and execute the enterprise communications strategy and ensure alignment across issue areas and Stand Together’s top priorities.
    • Develop cohesive messaging frameworks that guide diverse audience communications strategies, ensuring consistency and brand impact.
    • Manage, coach, and develop a team of communications professionals while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and application of industry-leading approaches.
    • Build and refine best-in-class communications practices that enhance team bandwidth and impact towards Stand Together’s biggest growth and innovation opportunities.
    • Implement new technologies, systems, and tools that streamline communications efforts and optimize knowledge sharing.
    • Develop measurement frameworks and reports that show the impact of communications initiatives related to brand visibility, reputation, and paradigm shift.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional business stakeholders to ensure organizational priorities are properly resourced to maximize outcomes.
    • Provide strategic counsel on messaging, PR, and communications tactics across the community as required.
    • Oversee a team of professional leaders including Reputation Management, Editorial, Public Relations/Earned Media.
What You Will Bring

    • 15+ years’ experience leading sizable strategic communications, media relations and public relations teams and editorial capabilities.
    • A forward looking operator who can manage through complexity, inspire high performance, and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proven experience building and executing media relations, organizational positioning, reputation management, and executive positioning strategies.
    • Solid understanding and passion for communications efforts that span diverse industries and audiences (policy/political, business, philanthropy, advocacy).
    • Displayed aptitude and appetite for both leading the development of strategies and rolling up sleeves to get involved in the day-to-day work when required.
    • Strong operational and systems-thinking abilities with a knack for designing communications processes and tools that scale across a matrixed organization.
    • Outcome-driven team supervisor with a passion for coaching, developing, and empowering individuals.
    • Strong collaborator and communicator with a proven ability to influence and align diverse teams and stakeholders across functions and brands.
