The Impact of a Scrum Master at Coupa:

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join our Business Applications team. This hybrid role combines servant-leadership for two major areas: supporting bi-weekly enhancement sprints for project delivery and coordinating daily production support across multiple application teams.

The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Agile practices, an exceptional facilitator, and comfortable switching between structured sprint activities and fast-moving production support needs. You will help improve team velocity, maintain application stability, and ensure continuous value delivery. You will also serve as our Jira expert, helping build and maintain SDLC processes and reporting within the platform.

What You’ll Do:

• Agile & Scrum Facilitation
– Lead all Scrum ceremonies for the development team, including planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
– Coach the team on Agile principles to maintain high performance and quality.
– Partner with the Product Owner/BA to refine, groom, and prioritize the backlog.
– Conduct sprint planning, manage execution, and track burn-down charts.
– Remove obstacles, protect the team from disruptions, and help resolve conflicts.
– Ensure timely sprint delivery.
– Track and share performance metrics such as burn-down charts, velocity, and sprint reports.
– Promote collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
– Publish sprint release notes.

• Production Support Coordination
– Lead a daily “scrum-of-scrums” or standup for Business Applications teams (Salesforce, NetSuite, Coupa, Zuora, etc.).
– Oversee triage, prioritization, and assignment of incoming production issues and urgent requests.
– Ensure timely communication among analysts, developers, and business users regarding critical issues.
– Maintain and improve a Kanban board or similar tool to track support workflow.
– Help monitor support metrics and SLA compliance.
– Identify recurring problems and promote root cause analysis and long-term fixes for the enhancement backlog.

• Jira Administration
– Act as the Jira expert, configuring and managing the platform to support our SDLC.
– Build and maintain workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
– Create custom dashboards, filters, advanced JQL, and reports to improve visibility and tracking.
– Train and support users to ensure adherence to Jira best practices.

• SaaS Platform Delivery
– Guide the team in applying SDLC principles to enterprise SaaS platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Coupa, and ServiceCloud.
– Collaborate with operations leaders, business application leadership, and business analysts to maintain a clear, prioritized backlog.
– Support the process for requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and deployment in an iterative model.

• Agile Coaching
– Mentor team members and stakeholders on Agile and Scrum best practices.
– Foster continuous improvement by encouraging experimentation and learning.
– Help the team become self-organizing and accountable.
– Support the organization in advancing its Agile maturity.

What You Bring to Coupa:

• 3–5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master for a software development or IT configuration team.
• Proven Jira Administration expertise, including workflow configuration and advanced JQL.
• Experience providing Agile coaching and driving organizational change.
• Strong knowledge of the SDLC and its application to SaaS configuration and deployment.
• Experience with Confluence and other Atlassian tools that integrate with project management and testing platforms.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A servant-leader mindset and a passion for supporting team success.
• Active Scrum Master certification (CSM®, PSM I, or equivalent) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Coupa is committed to equal opportunity and provides an inclusive, welcoming workplace. Hiring, compensation, training, and performance evaluations are handled fairly, and all qualified individuals receive equal consideration.
