We’re interviewing skilled engineers to join our team, & build services/tools to support our RESTful infrastructure.

Looking to add someone eager to tackle some of the most challenging problems associated with aggregate data acquisition and the semantic web. You’ll be exposed to the unique challenges that come from scaling services that run at high availability.

Responsibilities: • Build new services from scratch (designing architecture through deploying functioning services & tools). • Own/operate/maintain web services across all development environments including production. • Build server-side technologies using open source software. • Write quality, maintainable code with extensive test coverage • Mentor junior engineers • Lead code & infrastructure reviews

Requirements: • Technical Leadership – We’re a small but growing team of dedicated engineers. Must be able to influence & garner respect across engineering from tech leads to architects. • PHP/Symfony – Our platform & tools are written in PHP. We value good object oriented design. Experience with Symfony framework is required. • Service Oriented Architecture – Operate a complex platform composed of discrete front end, middleware, & backend services • SQL / NoSQL – Use a variety of data stores, RDBMS databases (primarily MySQL) and NoSQL Key/Value stores (primarily Redis) • Schema Design – A critical part of our application focuses on how our data is organized. Must have a strong sense of normalization / de-normalization techniques • Agile – ability to ship excellent software quickly & frequently • Passionate. Persistent. Creative.

Bonus points: • Experience with:

• search engines (ElasticSearch)
• message queues (RabbitMQ)
• configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt) • Familiar with, or want to learn more about Enterprise Message Bus architectures. • Love semantic data, pizza, sushi, & good beer. • Contribute to or maintain an open source project.

Salary and compensation

$70,000 — $100,000/year
