Begift is seeking an exceptionally talented developer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for building marketplaces, custom ecommerce platforms, and content management systems for web and mobile. We are looking for a teammate who will join us in taking Begift to the next level.

Responsibilities / Requirements:

• Passionate and curious about dual sided marketplaces, e-commerce, content management systems, UX and search optimization, and building the next great e-commerce company. Dedicated to being a pioneer in creating the best way for mom’s to discover, buy and register for experts, services, and products.
• Lead the further development and on-going management of Begift’s custom e-commerce and content management systems.
• Incorporate physical products by integrating Begift with existing e-commerce, fulfillment, 3PL, and direct to consumer sales systems.
• Build Begift’s social recommendation engine, peer recommended product results algorithm, social sharing systems, and optimize the merchant onboarding funnel/process.
• Optimize Begift’s content distribution and SEO strategies.
• Leadership: Be an advocate and ambassador for Begift in the developer community. Help form Begift’s voice as an expert in e-commerce tech, UX/UI, SEO, and self created content marketing and distribution.
• The current version of Begift is built in PHP / Zend / MySQL / AWS and deployed on web and mobile using bootstrap. We are open to refining and growing the existing system or building in a new language depending on the new team member’s experience.
• Fluent in Java, PHP, Ruby, or equivalent. Experience with SQL, Javascript, HTML, CSS, AWS, and integrating with existing e-commerce and fulfillment systems.

Salary and compensation

$100,000 — $160,000/year
