Muzooka is currently recruiting a senior iOS developer to help kick some ass on the mobile team. We currently have an iPhone app on the app store but are looking for someone experienced to help make it stand out as one of the best music apps on the market.
What are we looking for?
Experience
We want someone who has written and shipped a few apps to the app store, and understands the ins and outs of the iOS environment. You will be the lead developer on iOS and we need a developer that can hit the ground running. You’ll need to be able to provide accurate estimates on development cycles, and work with our other developers on server side and API integrations. You work hard, smart and honest.
Appreciation for good UI and interactions
The design team on mobile strives to create a great look and feel for our apps, and we need someone to accurately translate it into code. We’re not the kind of guys that rely on standard controls, instead we want to either utilize existing libraries, edit those libraries until we get what we need, or work your magic to create your own. When the team asks ‘Can this be done?’ we want someone to say ‘I’ll find a way’.
Passion
We love music, and we like building cool products. We want someone that’s consistency trying to improve, and is in tune with the latest and greatest in tech. We love what we do here, and want to work with others that do as well.
What will I be working on?
We’ve got a fully functional iPhone app that we’re looking to grow into the future. It’s got a lot of the stuff you’d expect from a music app – Collections, likes, playlists, user profiles, searching, plus a couple goodies that are unique to Muzooka. Our Discover mode allows the user to quickly preview a 10 second clip of a song highlighted by the artist themselves. The user can quickly swipe through this content, which is a great way to find great new music fast.
How we work
Our main office is in Calgary, Alberta, but our team is spread across Vancouver, Montreal, Dallas, New York and Istanbul. Our best case scenario is that you’re in Calgary willing to work out of our office, but we’re also open to remote workers as long as it isn’t in a timezone that inhibits communication and workflow. We work with all of the tools you expect like Slack, Dropbox,Github and Sketch, and are open to using anything else that makes our collective lives easier.
As a full-time employee, you’ll also have the chance to get in on the ground floor of our growing company. You’ll work directly with other members of the product team to accomplish our core goal:create one of the most compelling music products on the market.
