A Salesforce Solution Architect in the education domain is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Salesforce solutions that address the unique needs of educational institutions. This role requires deep knowledge of Salesforce data architecture, integration capabilities, and community portal implementation specifically tailored for educational environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement comprehensive Salesforce solutions for educational institutions, including student management, enrollment processes, alumni relations.

Create robust data models and structures that align with educational data requirements and reporting needs

Develop integration strategies between Salesforce and other educational systems (SIS, LMS, financial aid systems, etc.)

Configure and customize Salesforce Communities/Experience Cloud for student, parent, faculty, and alumni portals

Lead technical discovery sessions with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective solutions

Provide technical leadership and guidance to implementation teams

Create technical documentation, including solution design documents and data models

Ensure solutions adhere to Salesforce best practices and maintain scalability, performance, and security standards

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of experience working with Salesforce in the education sector

Advanced knowledge of Salesforce data architecture and object relationships

Extensive experience with Salesforce integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, middleware solutions)

Proven expertise configuring Salesforce Communities/Experience Cloud for educational institutions

Salesforce certifications: Salesforce Certified System Architect, Salesforce Certified Application Architect

Knowledge of student lifecycle management, advancement/fundraising, and academic processes

Experience with data migration, ETL tools, and data quality management
