POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager and in cooperation with the Lead Enterprise Software Developers, the Senior Development Operations Engineer will bring a high level of proficiency in software engineering, playing a key role in supporting and improving the company’s infrastructure, expanding our use of Amazon’s AWS Cloud platform, and owning our Integration and Deployment pipelines.

A typical day includes:

• Build upon, monitor, and improve the company’s infrastructure on both in-house and Cloud servers
• Implement automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code
• Propose, design, and implement security improvements
• Collaborate with Enterprise Software team to automate and enhance product development and release processes
• Support and optimize the deployment of new software versions
• Migrate our existing web applications to new public cloud infrastructure and ensure the availability of those production services

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Broad experience with the AWS suite of services
• Experience building and improving high-quality CI/CD processes using Jenkins and/or GitLab CI
• Considerable experience working with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and containers (Docker)
• Deep understanding of web, http, networking, security, scaling, and cloud native architecture
• Strong background of working in Linux
• Experience working and integrating with GitLab
• Experience working with relational (MS SQL, MySQL) and non-relational (Cassandra) databases
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Git, and/or Maven
• Experience with Windows Server
• Software architecture design skills for maintaining High Availability and Fault Tolerance
