The Strategic Communications Specialist supports the execution of integrated communications strategies that strengthen the Mom’s Meals® brand and expand visibility across priority audiences. This role blends public relations and social media responsibilities, helping drive consistent, audience-focused storytelling across earned, owned and shared channels.
Working closely with marketing team members and cross-functional partners, this position supports day-to-day execution across media relations and social channels with increasing independence, while contributing to planning, content development and performance tracking to enhance impact and results.
- Support development and execution of integrated communications plans aligned with business priorities
- Translate complex business priorities and initiatives into clear, audience-relevant messaging across communications channels
- Execute day-to-day media relations efforts, including media list development, pitching, follow-up and drafting materials such as news releases, briefing documents and talking points
- Own social media content planning and editorial calendar execution, including aligning content to campaigns and business priorities, as well as day-to-day scheduling and publishing
- Support executive visibility through development of social content, contributed content and briefing materials
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment and consistency across communications and campaigns
- Monitor media coverage and social media performance, summarizing insights and supporting recommendations to improve results
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in public relations, communications or social media
- Demonstrated experience supporting media relations and managing social media channels
- Strong writing and editing skills across a variety of formats and audiences
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with strong attention to detail
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple communications workstreams with increasing independence
- Experience in health care, nutrition or a related industry
- Familiarity with media monitoring and social analytics tools (e.g., Cision, Brandwatch)
- Proactive and accountable, with the ability to take initiative and follow through
- Strong collaborator who builds effective working relationships
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-through skills
- Curious and engaged with media, social and industry trends
- Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
