Teaching Garage is the creator of the first and only digital curriculum for elementary STEM teachers.
We created Design SySTEM, the first and only digital engineering curriculum for STEM-oriented elementary schools. Design SySTEM teaches innovation in classrooms by developing the 4 C’s in students: collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and communication. The curriculum covers ten fields of engineering that are aligned with Science, ELA, and NGSS standards.
Design SySTEM’s goals are to 1) inspire all elementary school students (especially those underperforming in math and science) to be excited about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through real-world application and 2) bridge the gap between the field and classroom STEM instruction.
We work with industry leaders from Pearson to McGraw-Hill to EdLeader21 to bring impactful, engaging, and real-world relevant engineering challenges for students to solve through hands-on building and prototyping.
We integrate the Engineering Design Process into our problem and project-based approaches. The curriculum is used by elementary schools across the U.S. from Silicon Valley to Boston, from school STEM leads to classroom teachers.
