India remains the world’s third-largest energy consumer, with gas demand forecast to increase by 60% by 2030. The country continues to struggle to meet its #hydrocarbon demand from domestic production, with over 88% crude import dependency. To address this, the Indian government announced a US$67bn #investment to increase its share of #gasproduction to 15% by 2030. Michela Francisco explains why India’s current pathway will fall short of its ambitions to absorb more of its domestic demand and meet its 2030 gas target, including a breakdown of #drilling and production outlooks for the next five years. In this week's insight, Cinnamon Edralin examines US Gulf #drillship supply, demand and #utilisation over the last decade and provides an outlook through to 2026. The US Gulf drillship sector is facing a lull in activity not seen since 2018. With marketed utilisation for this segment staying above 90% since mid-2021, near-term availability in the region has been very tight. However, several units are poised to roll off charter this year without follow-up jobs lined up yet.
