When I founded E Co., I never imagined the twists and turns, and the challenges and triumphs that would shape our future. What began as a solo venture has grown into a global team 🌍 of over 50 employees, supported by a fantastic network of experts and partners – some of whom have become lifelong friends. E Co. project news 📢 | Thrilled to have supported the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and Dr. Tobias Schnitzler on their first #GCF project and Moldova’s first single-country GCF project! 👏 Read more about the project here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ev7rAck6 🔸 While #Moldova has participated in several multi-country GCF projects, this will be the first time the country benefits from a focused, national project. The aim is to address the climate risks faced by Moldova’s semi-arid regions, particularly in the Southern Development Region, using ecosystem-based solutions such as restoring #wetlands, #riparianbuffers, #forests, and #grasslands, whilst also promoting #localcommunity involvement. These measures are designed to improve forests and #watersystems, support #agriculture, and enhance #communityresilience to #climatechange. 🔸 According to the Green Climate Fund, 'The Ministry of Environment (MoEnv) has endorsed the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) as the Accredited Entity (AE) to support the development of the “Climate Change Adaptation: Ecosystem-based solutions in semi-arid ecosystems to increase rural resilience in Moldova” project. This project addresses increasing impacts of climate change (CC) on semi-arid ecosystems and #watersecurity in South Development Region of Moldova, addressing issues like increasing of temperatures, #waterscarcity, #floods and #droughts affecting vulnerable ecosystems and #ruralcommunities. Focused on nine districts, it enhances climate resilience through Ecosystem-based Adaptation #afforestation, #reforestation, and #habitatrestoration. Furthermore, key elements include the development of capacity, knowledge transfer on climate resilient management within the public and #privatesector. The ultimate beneficiaries are rural communities highly dependent on Ecosystem Services and focus lies on their direct and indirect involvement in the planned activities.' 🌿 Green Climate Fund 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐚𝐮 🇲🇩   Gemeinsam mit den Klimafinanzierungsexperten von E Co. und unter Teilnahme der moldauischen Staatssekretärin Aliona Cara-Rusnac (Ministry of Environment Moldova) gestalteten wir kürzlich den Inception Workshop für unser geplantes Green Climate Fund (GCF)-Projekt in Chișinău. Bei der Veranstaltung nahmen Vertreterinnen und Vertreter öffentlicher Institutionen, Forschungszentren und zivilgesellschaftlicher Organisationen teil.   Im Rahmen des Workshops erhielt das ADA-Team, vertreten durch Sandra Horina, Andrei Ursache, Diana Celac, Christine Bitzinger und Dr. Tobias Schnitzler, wichtige Inputs zur weiteren Erarbeitung des #GCF-Förderantrags.   🏁 Das Projekt wird den Folgen des Klimawandels im Süden der Republik Moldau entgegenwirken, insbesondere Wasserknappheit, Dürren und Überschwemmungen.
