Today we’re excited to announce GNARBOX’s entry into two new markets: enterprise drone, and edge computing. Despite our origins in photography and filmmaking, we designed our hardware and software for a wide variety of data management use cases. At the end of the day, the origin of data doesn’t matter to a computer like GNARBOX, whether it’s data being collected off a photographer’s camera, a power line inspector’s drone, or a sensor at an industrial site - it’s all data in need of storage, processing and upload/backhaul from the location of capture, also known as the edge. Our entry into these markets begin with the new GNARBOX 2.0 Drone Edition, due out 3Q21, and the GNARBOX Edge Compute Platform, currently open for trial implementations. About us
GNARBOX was a technology company based in Los Angeles. The product was revered by fans on Kickstarter and an industry leading solution for file management and on-the-go photo and video editing. Founded in 2014 in a garage in Santa Monica, the company grew to a Series A backed group of 30 employees and hundreds of contractors around the world by 2019. GNARBOX was developed by a group of people who cared deeply about users and their experience using the product. Building the device, the software that ran on it, and the companion apps was a challenge and an honor for all involved. Many alums have moved on to work on impactful and innovative projects throughout the media and technology industries as a result of the experience. The flagship GNARBOX 2.0 product may still be available in select online stores and community self-support still takes place in select forums.
