🌍 Join Market Research Society (MRS) at the Equality Summit 2025. This year’s Equality Summit comes at a crucial time when resistance to EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) initiatives is on the rise. At this summit, we’ll champion the business case for making EDI research the foundation of all customer strategies and demonstrate why every EDI action must be 100% authentic. https://lnkd.in/eqXfjNuS We’ll explore the frameworks and methodologies designed to deliver inclusive research, offering the chance to evaluate our own practices and ensure we are not perpetuating biases. 📅 15 May 2025 |⌚️ 08:45 - 17:30 |📍The Hub, UM London 💡Book now: https://lnkd.in/eqXfjNuS 👉 Featured sessions: Balancing representation and self-identification: experiences of stigma in global majority communities Andy Broomhead, Diabetes UK | Coco Ravan, Magenta Research Using a recent Diabetes UK research project, this session explores how researchers can effectively capture the nuances of cultural identity in sampling while respecting the deeply personal nature of self-identification. Usability tests should reflect real-world behavior—not assume or act as a guided tour. Here are a couple poorly-written tasks, and how to rewrite them: 🚨 Your tasks are too obvious. 👉 Instead of: “Click the ‘Buy Now’ button,” ✅ Try: “Purchase X item using your preferred payment method.” 🚨 Your task lacks context 👉 Instead of: “Click around and see if you encounter any problems,” ✅ Try: “You are creating a new profile on our app. Open it and complete the basic onboarding information, including uploading a profile picture.” If you're trying to gauge how easy it is for a participant to do something on your site, don't lead them to the right answer. And if you're wanting data that's as relevant to real-world experience and usage as possible, don't assume participants know what they're doing without context and a specific goal. The best usability tasks reveal how people navigate—not whether they can follow instructions.

"If you have a GenAI product out there today and you're not measuring these, you're behind." How do we measure success when users are applying GenAI in innovative and limitless ways? Ways that can’t easily be compared or measured 1-1 with previous products? LinkedIn's Kevin Newton breaks it down with this guide to measuring AIX.

A Dinner for Design Researchers? Dscout made it happen at #SXSW2025. Shouldn't such events be a regular thing? With the market getting tougher, staying connected is more important than ever. These dinner events are incredibly valuable to network, exchange insights, and stay ahead of industry dynamics. Where else would I have met amazing folks like Katie Hickey, Wesley Poer, Purvi Shah, Ty Taylor, Sarah Bono, Abbie Cataldo or Collin Pfender to discuss the latest in UX Insights, DesignOps, and crazy tools like StoryTribe (which lets you build storyboards in seconds)? Or heard about 50 upcoming job openings? 😎 🤫 Looking forward to see more of Dscout - thank you for investing into our community 🙏 #designdinner #uxresearch #insights

One that includes: • Product roadmaps and priorities • Engineering timelines and capacity • Business impact and profitability Tala's Malia Nagle speaks to the tension between these priorities, and a new approach to aligning customer outcomes with business goals.
