Working on automating processes to be even better! How? 💡 - By using #Redmine as our project management system. Redmine is an open-source application with a modular architecture that plugins can extend. We use Redmine plugins to add functionality that is not present in Redmine Core. Plugins allow us to extend basic functionality and make cross-system integrations. - For example, when a person sets time off in Redmine, it should be automatically added to the person’s Office365 calendar and also reflected as the Mattermost user status, so others see this information in the IM communicator when they try to reach out to the unavailable person. The latest internal #hackathon, where members of the R&D Backend and Web Frontend teams met to increase our work efficiency, was all about real-time collaboration, coding, and pizza! The main goal was to automate selected internal processes and parts of our daily agenda. 🍕🤝 Check the article in the comments for other tips on automating internal processes that might be helpful in your workplace. ✌️

These include not only the features, public API and architecture, but also to the mental models that developers come up with. 👨‍🏫 Michał Trojanowski — Securing Single Page Applications Using The Token Handler Pattern 👨‍🏫 📝 Description: Single Page Applications appear simple at first sight. Web developers provide a superb user experience, and it is also relatively easy to implement token-based security in the browser. Yet this is against current best practices for browser-based apps, and security concerns can become a blocking issue. It is instead recommended to implement a Backend for Frontend (BFF), to reduce browser threats. Yet this often results in the adoption of website technologies to issue secure cookies, which can work against other web architecture goals. In this talk, I will show how a separation of web and API concerns can give you the best choices. In the talk, I will present the Token Handler pattern — Curity's variation of the Backend For Frontend approach.
