Recruiters! Enhance your productivity with these 4 effective time structuring tips to streamline your workflow and optimize outcomes: 1. Auto-schedule screens (Use Calendly or other auto scheduling tools, Google now has a built in auto scheduling feature in it!) - Customize your calendar so you can time block for 4-6 screens a day (or however many you need to meet the hiring goals) - This means that screens never wreck the structure of your week and affect other priorities. (sourcing, HM meetings, trainings, etc.) 2. Templates and info-packs. -Pre-build your HM pipeline report so it is ready to send weekly -Put together company info-packs if you are an RPO service -build out candidate follow up templates for post call, pre interview stages, etc. 3. 30 minute Friday decisioning session for Hiring managers. -Have a pre built document with candidate pipeline and go through it with HM's, structure this time to help make decisions and update candidates in a timely fashion. 4. Push for an hour of sourcing a day. Make this hour your happy place. Make an coffee, put on your favorite music and jam out for one hour. - Target is 10-15 good candidates found in that hour. I'm gonna say it! Having only the years on your resume/Linkedin for the tenure of an employment at any one company is kinda shady. Let me explain. If I see this: ACME Inc: 2021 - 2023 · 3 yrs I'm going to automatically assume you are hiding something. I say this from experience. I personally know of several C-Suite executives that did/do this and I see it everywhere. They were a the company for 1yr, 2 months...but because they only put years with no start and stop dates...they artificially padded their work experience by 22 months. For the sake of this example...Starting December, 2021 and leaving January 2023 = 1yr, 2 months...but their advertising that experience as if it was 3 yrs. I typically see this kind of trend from leadership people who've been pushed out of the company. Now is that a biased opinion? Yeah, yes it is...and unfortunately I can't completely eliminate being bias (that's just being human) but I can try to minimize it, but this tactic on tenure sure as hell doesn't help. Do yourself a favor and be honest upfront...it's a lot less of an awkward conversation when I don't have to probe how long you were at a company rather than learning why you left.

Tips for your initial call with a recruiter   1.  Make sure that you have thoroughly read the job description provided to you. If the recruiter did not supply a job description, send an e-mail requesting one before the call. 2.  If there are any questions as to your candidacy for the role, make sure you mention those to the recruiter. It will reflect well on your attention to detail if you get ahead of any potential issues. 3.  Take note of any questions you have about the position’s requirements, as well as any strengths you would like to draw our attention to. 4.  Before the call take some time to think about the top 3-5 things that you would like to see in your next position. Salary range, hybrid/remote/onsite, leadership roles, roles with mentorship provided, etc. Remember these calls are to ensure that the position in question is mutually beneficial for you and for the company enquiring. 5.  When you answer our call, identify yourself. “Hello, this is _________.” This will help the recruiter ensure they pronounce your name correctly, while also letting us know you were prepared for the call. 6.  Try not to take your call from a moving vehicle. We can tell, and it does make hearing you more difficult. 7.  If the role that a recruiter reaches out to you about is not a good fit, let them know and ask if they have roles that work for what you are looking for in your next position. 8.  Be yourself! We want to see your personality. 😊
