About the role:

Join our growing In-House Creative Agency as a Senior Art Director, specializing in brand marketing, product storytelling, social media, and video content. In this role, you will drive creative excellence, shape visual storytelling, and set the creative vision for Back Market’s brand presence across digital and traditional platforms. You’ll collaborate within a dynamic international team, working closely with overseas colleagues, cross-functional partners, and reporting to the Senior Lead Art Director.

As a Senior Art Director , you’ll be responsible for pushing the boundaries of brand creativity, ensuring a best-in-class design approach that strengthens Back Market’s cultural relevance and global impact. Your expertise in visual design, social media storytelling, and brand communication will be instrumental in crafting high-impact campaigns from concept to execution.

YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT): 🥇

    • Lead the execution of Back Market’s global design identity across multiple channels, including traditional advertising (film, out-of-home, print), digital (website, app, digital ads), social media (motion & static content), and experiential activations.
    • Drive creative excellence across all marketing and social media communications, ensuring innovation and consistency in brand expression.
    • Own the visual storytelling for Back Market’s social media platforms, ensuring a unique and culturally relevant aesthetic that differentiates the brand.
    • Collaborate closely with the in-house social media team to conceptualize, design, and produce engaging content that drives audience connection and brand affinity.
    • Mentor and inspire junior designers and art directors, fostering a culture of innovation, growth, and high design standards.
    • Partner with external creators including designers, illustrators, animators, filmmakers, and experiential designers to push creative boundaries and bring campaigns to life.
    • Elevate Back Market’s brand impact globally through highly crafted, breakthrough creative.
    • Design social-first content that resonates with cultural moments and trends, establishing Back Market as a leader in digital storytelling.
    • Champion and evolve the Brand Visual Identity, ensuring consistency and high standards across all touchpoints.
    • Push the brand’s mission—“do more with what we already have”—into the future with bold, innovative creativity.
    • Transform Back Market into a household name that is widely recognized, trusted, and admired.
    • Long-term goal: Define and develop a distinct visual world and social identity across Back Market’s social media channels, ensuring long-term brand cohesion and recognition.

YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF YOU HAVE: ⭐

    • 8+ years of experience in art direction, design leadership, or a related field, with a strong background in brand marketing and social media content creation.
    • A proven track record of delivering high-quality, culture-defining creative that stands out in competitive markets.
    • Expertise in digital storytelling, with a keen understanding of social media trends, platform dynamics, and audience engagement.
    • A strong design leadership mentality, with the ability to mentor, guide, and elevate creative teams.
    • A strategic mindset, with the ability to align brand storytelling with business goals while maintaining exceptional creative quality.
    • Mastery of design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.) and a strong understanding of motion design, typography, and composition.
