Letโ€™s talk about role ๏ธ๐ŸŒŸ

The Legal Director is a leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's regulatory and legal requirements. This role requires a combination of leadership, legal expertise, and a deep understanding of organizational policies and laws.

This position will report to the VP of Finance, based in Paris.

What will I be doing? ๐Ÿค”

    • Legal Oversight & Compliance:
    • a) Provide expert legal advice on corporate, employment, and regulatory matters across the organization.
    • b) Ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws, including labor laws, data privacy regulations, and corporate governance.
    • c) Develop and maintain internal legal policies, ensuring they align with best practices and industry standards.
    • d) Monitor legal and regulatory changes, advising leadership on necessary adjustments to policies and operations.

    • Contract Management & Negotiation:
    • a) Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including employment agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and service-level agreements.
    • b) Ensure all contracts protect the companyโ€™s interests and comply with relevant legal requirements.
    • c) Collaborate with internal teams, such as Finance and Operations, to assess the legal implications of business agreements.

    • Risk Management & Dispute Resolution:
    • a) Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • b) Oversee any legal disputes, investigations, and litigation, working closely with external legal counsel when necessary.
    • c) Support internal teams in resolving employment law issues, compliance concerns, and corporate governance matters.

    • Corporate Governance & Ethics:
    • a) Advise on governance matters, ensuring the company adheres to legal and ethical standards.
    • b) Support board and executive leadership with legal insights related to corporate decisions and policies.
    • c) Conduct internal legal audits and implement best practices to strengthen regulatory compliance.

    • Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
    • a) Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to align legal strategies with business needs.
    • b) Communicate legal policies and updates effectively to senior management and employees.
    • c) Act as a liaison with external legal counsel, government agencies, and industry bodies when required.

What do we need from you? ๐Ÿ˜Ž

    • 7+ years of legal experience, preferably in corporate law, employment law, or regulatory compliance.
    • Proven ability to manage legal risks and ensure corporate compliance in a dynamic, international environment.
    • Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
    • Expertise in employment law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and provide strategic legal advice to business leaders.
    • Registered and qualified with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives or equivalent legal accreditation.
