Image Relay is hiring a Senior User Researcher
We are expanding our product team and keen to hire a Senior UX Researcher who will bring an entrepreneurial appetite and curiosity to the position that will help discover new opportunities and approaches to delivering greater value for our customers. You will be working proactively ahead of design to perform the necessary research to ensure we are solving the right problems in the most efficient way to drive the best result for our customers.

What you will be doing
  • You will collaborate closely with our designers, engineers, product managers, and the customer team to envision and create new products, services, and experiences
  • You will work across every stage of the product development lifecycle to ensure that the concepts and design decisions are sensitive to both the needs our customers/business with testing and feedback loops
  • You will be especially involved at the earliest stages of projects where we conduct research to understand user needs and develop opportunities for new experiences while iterating on existing
  • You will formulate clear hypotheses or approaches based on ambiguous information, then later validate these hypotheses in collaboration with the product team
  • You should be eager to involve customers in the design process as a Design Thinking practitioner
  • You will receive a wide latitude of support from leadership and report directly to the Chief Product Officer
  • You should be comfortable working independently as a self-starter, in a remote work environment and able to make thoughtful decisions based on your research
Qualifications to apply:
  • Have at least 5+ years working as a User Researcher as part of a product team
  • Portfolio that demonstrates how user insights were developed and executed on as an experience. As well as a range of tools used to achieve goals
  • Have worked with the human centered design process and advocate for user research with stakeholders
  • Experience designing and running original experimental research on digital products and services
  • Are skilled in qualitative User Research methods (e.g. contextual inquiries, journey mapping, usability testing, field studies, participatory design, affinity map, workshops)
  • Quantitative research methods
  • Are comfortable with building (and defending) business cases
  • MA/MS in Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Behavioral Economics, or a related field
