Internships at Wealthsimple
We offer 4- to 8-month internships open to co-op and non–co-op students, as well as recent graduates. During your time with us, you’ll contribute to projects transforming financial services for Canadians while being supported by a team committed to your growth, mentorship, and connection to the broader Wealthsimple community.
Our internship program follows a hybrid model, with in-person work at our Toronto headquarters on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This approach combines remote flexibility with the collaboration and mentorship that come from being together in person.

✔ Recent graduates within 6 months of completion

About the Accounting Team
The Accounting team maintains Wealthsimple’s financial foundation. We manage financial records, ensure IFRS compliance, and deliver accurate, timely information that supports strategic decisions and operational efficiency across all departments. We are a collaborative, detail-focused team that plays a key role in driving the company’s growth.
About the Role
The Accounting Intern will provide essential support to the Finance and Accounting team, gaining practical experience in a dynamic, fast-growing fintech environment. This role offers the chance to apply classroom knowledge to real situations and contribute directly to important financial processes.

What you’ll do
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close, including routine journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support the Senior Accountant with daily tasks and ad hoc projects, such as bank reconciliations and accruals
• Perform financial data entry and review documentation to ensure general ledger accuracy
• Help prepare schedules for audits, tax filings, and regulatory requirements
• Create and update accounting policy and procedure documentation
• Learn about regulatory compliance, internal controls, and IFRS applications in a fast-paced fintech environment
What you’ll bring
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Basic understanding of core accounting principles
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to learn new software quickly
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and accuracy
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative attitude
Compensation and Equity
Base salary ranges:
• Term 1: CAD $42,000–$44,000
• Term 2: CAD $44,000–$46,000
• Term 3: CAD $46,000–$48,000
• Term 4: CAD $48,000–$50,000
• Term 5: CAD $49,000–$52,000
Your study year and previous internship experience determine your band. Actual pay depends on skills, experience, and academic performance. Exceptional candidates may be placed above the range. We use clear year-based levels and market-aligned salary bands to ensure fairness across internships.
