Our mission
Aquabyte is working to transform the sustainability and efficiency of aquaculture. By making fish farming more affordable and practical than livestock production, we aim to reduce one of the largest contributors to climate change and help prepare for a growing global population. Aquaculture is the fastest-growing food-production sector in the world, and now is the time to shape how technology helps harvest the sea responsibly and preserve it for generations.
We’re a diverse, mission-driven team, and we’re excited to collaborate with others who share our passion. If our vision resonates with you, we’d love to hear from you.
Our product
We currently focus on helping salmon farmers better understand their fish populations. Our latest innovation, the Hydra 360, is an underwater camera and fish health monitoring system with seven camera lenses, integrated 3D sonar, and an advanced onboard computer that runs real-time AI analytics—such as pellet tracking and appetite prediction—providing a continuous 360-degree view of the aquaculture pen.
The system works at three levels: on-site hardware for capturing images, cloud services for processing data, and a user-facing web application. That means there are many moving parts and plenty of exciting technical challenges across the entire stack.
Above all, Aquabyte is a customer-focused company. Our product development is guided by what fish farmers need, and we prioritize customer satisfaction in everything we do. We are committed to building a global, collaborative team.
