Overview
We are looking for a flexible, dynamic Accounting Manager to manage accounting operations and processes across Carbon Direct Inc. A successful candidate combines solid analytical skills with a deep knowledge of accounting principles to prepare and analyze financial reports. You are detail-oriented, skilled at building processes across our fast-growing company, and able to collaborate effectively with team members across departments. You will report to our VP of Finance. Although a background in climate work is a plus but not a prerequisite, a passion for solving climate problems is required.
Responsibilities
Own accounting activities and policies, including key areas such as revenue recognition
Manage outsourced accounting team and any future accounting hires
Serve as the main point of contact for financial audits and tax returns
Collaborate closely with the VP of Finance on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management
Run monthly and quarterly financial close processes
Manage A/R, A/P, payroll accounting, and intercompany accounting
Refine accounting infrastructure and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, https://www.bill.com
, Rippling, Carta, HubSpot) for a growing organizationComply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and infrastructure
Qualifications
Experience in an accounting, auditing, or finance role, including management and supervisory experience. Experience working for a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organization is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification preferred, with knowledge of GAAP and key areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and software capitalization essential. Prior experience supporting third-party audits is preferred.
Proven analytical abilities, well-developed communication and organizational skills, and keen attention to detail are vital.
Salary
